The history of SchapfenMühle in Jungingen began in 1984. Since then, the silo tower, a high-bay warehouse, various production facilities and the receiving department for grain with adjacent laboratory have also been sited here, in addition to the flour and dehulling mills at the heart of operations.
In 2005, the bakery business sales division was moved from Jungingen to Dornstadt and expanded at the second location to include its own Application Technology and Development Department. Here too are the puffing and coating plant, the CO2 pressure disinfestation plant, various production plants for the food retail trade, and a high-bay warehouse.
To expand contract farming and direct collection from producers, SchapfenMühle acquired the warehouse in Neenstetten's Eisental valley in 2010. With a storage capacity of 25,000 tonnes, the various containers store spelt, barley, oat and wheat grains.
In September 2021, SchapfenMühle was expanded by one location: Plant 4 at Franzenhauserweg 24 in Ulm-Jungingen. This expansion means that more than 1.000 m² of picking and functional space and more than 4.700 pallet spaces are available.
